Basic information on student internships

Students are obliged to carry out apprenticeships studies I. i second-cycle studies both stationary and extramural. The duration of internships in first-cycle studies is 960 hours, and in second-cycle studies - 480 hours. The apprenticeship must be related to the chosen field of study - the profile of a potential employer should enable the student to achieve the goals described in the apprenticeship program. What makes it easier for students is the fact that they do not have to be continuous - a university student can do an internship in one or many workplaces.

It is worth adding that the deadline for the internship may also be changed - however, this fact must be approved by the Dean after consultation with the Internship Tutor, which he does at the student's request.

Each apprenticeship must take into account the apprenticeship program, which is confirmed in the Practice Journal.

The internship is credited on the basis of a properly filled in Practice Diary by the Internship Supervisor. Failure to pass the course results in failure to complete the semester and the necessity to repeat it.

  • perform paid work related to the field of study;
  • during the last 5 years, they have performed gainful employment in an institution that guarantees obtaining appropriate skills;
  • run or have run their own business related to the field of study in the last 5 years;
  • are members of supervisory or management boards of business entities;
  • completed student internships during their studies at another university.

Organization of student apprenticeships

Supervision organization of internships is performed by the Practitioner. It is he who supervises their course, develops the program, and keeps the relevant documentation. At the same time, it is a body that provides assistance to students undergoing apprenticeships and does credit for internships as part of the curriculum for individual faculties and specializations. The task of the Internship Tutor is cooperation with the Career Office, which deals, among others, with organization of apprenticeships.
